Film E). Watton Nature Reserve Walk.
(Vignette: Owl at Tophill Low Bridge).
1). We start west from Tophill Low Bridge and continue untill we turn south into Easingwold Farm (2). We walk through the western corner of the farm-yard before going through a gate (3) and around its western and southern edges. We repeat this excursion (4) in different weather before moving south through the fields towards the Easingwold Plantation (5) and the so-called Watton Nature Reserve. Rather uncomfortably, we pass through this to emerge beside the Starberry Drain (6) which we follow to its junction (7) with the Beverley and Barmston Drain. This we follow in turn while taking in several views to the north-west, including one (8) of Watton Beck before it joins the River Hull. Next, (9), we are returning north beside the western bank of the River Hull at evening. And thus we enter a wood (10) at the southern end of the Tophill Low complex and return to our start - though various shades of dawn.
