(Vignette: Early morning looking towards High Baswick. Owl).
(1) It is very early morning and we are looking south, from Tophill Low Bridge, along the Beverley and Barmston Drain . We are then walking south through the wood beside it (2) as the sky lightens. We emerge eventrually (3) into a bright summer morning looking towards Wilfholme. Then we are on the western embankment of the River Hull and (4) looking towards High Baswick. and then - after a spectacular fly past by three swans (5) - looking towards Whitehome Hill. We approach and pause (6) beside the central part of the Tophill Low complex before continuing on towards (7) its northern end and the Lock and Weir (8). Soon we are at the Pumping Station looking west toward Standingholme Farm before we continue north, through a gate, to reach the southern end of the River Hull New Cut (9). We continue along this before turning west at an aqueduct (10) onto Scurf Dyke which we leave (11), by dropping south into the field (12) above Standingholme Farm. We travel east across these fields (13,14), and return to the Pump House (15). We then cross the Beverley and Barmston Drain by a footbridge before returning south (16), and home. Meanwhile, a swan flies suddnely in front of us and then we are surprised some more.
