Film H). Tophill Low Bridge to Scurf Dyke (and Return) 2nd.

(Vignette: Beside the Beverley and Barmston Drain. Kingfisher? Owl).

(1) We start just north of the Tophill Low Bridge, looking across the Beverley and Barmston Drain at a wood that runs beside it. We continue north with the Drain on our left until, after rather more than a mile we pass through a gate (2) that takes us beside the River Hull New Cut. We will have seen meanwhile, an owl, a weasel, a heron and a skein of geese. We walk the New Cut until we turn west at the Aqueduct (3) onto Scurf Dyke along which we continue into the evening. Then, (4) we turn south onto the fields above Standingholme Farm by which, through a winter landscape (5) and then a summer morning (6) we return towards the Pump House (7) before returning home (8) through the colours of a summer evening.
