Film G). Leven Canal Walk (Second).

(Vignette: Early morning at the Far Fox Aqueduct. Geese Fly Past).

The early morning start (1) has us already on the footpath at the eastern end of the Leven Canal and walking west. We approach (2) the Far Fox Aqueduct and from it we see a skein of geese fly past and then a heron alighting on nearby trees. having crossed a footbridge (3) west of the aqueduct we are again beside the canal. Next however, we are (4) about a 1/2 mile further west and atop the so called Waterloo Bridge. We disturb a moorhen. After continuing west along a footpath bowered by young trees we arrive (5) at the eastern embankment of the River Hull and start north (6) along it - after a quick backward look at the canal. Then we are on our way north, with the River to our left, when a heron flies overhead from behind us (7) before disappearing over Linley Hill, about 1/4 of a mile ahead. Beyond Linley Hill we see a fox in an adjacent field and then, a little further on where a large tree marks a bend in the river, we are approaching (8) Wilfholm. Subsequently, after passing a wood of mature trees at High Baswick, we arrive at Baswick Steer (9) and Baswick Landing where we leave the River, and make our way by country road (10.11.) towards Wheatherhill Farm. Finally, (12.13.14 and 15), we have views from various points along the southern half of Heigholme Lane before reaching its junction (16) with the road into Little Leven.
