Film K). Hempholme - Emmotland Cirucit (Extended).
(Vignette: None).
The start is at Hempholme Farm (1) which we pass through to follow the footpath as it passes north of Larum Hill (2). We then cross a field (3) on the way to Lock hill before following the footpath into (4) the field of maize which covers it. We emerge from the maize, east of the Lock and Weir that lie just north of the Tophill Low complex. we cross over the Weir and turn right for a view - looking north - of the River Hull New Cut (5). We then leave the Lock area and bypass the Pump House and after a view of the fields above Standingholme Farm (6), we reach the foot bridge that leads onto them. While on this footbridge we look southwards along the Beverley and Barmston Drain (7) and at the swallows catching insects above its surface. Then we travel west and then north through the field system above Standingholme Farm (8,9) until we reach the southern embankment of Scurf Dyke and look west, toward and beyond Hunting Bridge (10). We then travel east along Scruf Dyke (11.12), and then glance backward at the evening sky above it. Suddenly, we are on the easten bank of the River Hull above Bethel's bridge and travelling north (13), and approaching Emmotland (14), and the vicinity of the confluence of the River Hull and Frodingham Beck (15). We are then on the track (16) that takes us from Low Emmotland Farm towards High Emmotland and thence, evenually, over a stile and onto the field-track (17) that rises to Coneygarth Hill Farm. Just before arriving at the Farm we take a shrp right (18), southward and return, by field and meadow back to Hempholme.
