Film I). Hempholme - Emmotland Circuit.
(Vignette: Walk in Autumn from Hempholme Farm to the top of Lock Hill).
The start is at Hempholme Farm (1), which we pass through to follow the footpath as it passes north of Larum Hill (2). We then cross a field (3) between Larum and Lock Hill before following the footpath into (4) the field of maize which presently covers the latter. We emerge from the maize, east of the Lock and Weir that lie just north of the Tophill Low complex. We cross over the Weir and turn right for a view - looking north - or the River Hull New Cut (5). We then go over the lock gates and around a Pump House to reach the western bank of the New Cut (6). We continue north along the New Cut, and are approaching the aqueduct that is halfway along its length, when two swans fly in from the north-west. Suddenly we are beyond Bethel's Bridge and continuing north along the eastern bank of the River Hull (7), and approaching the entrance to Emmotland (8) where - looking north - we get a fine view of the confluence of Frodingham Beck with the River Hull. We then pass over a brick-built bridge and trhough a gate to reach the track (9) that takes us up from Low Emmotland Farm towards High Emmotland and thence down again, so that we arrive over a stile onto the field-track (10) than takes us to Coneygarth Hill Farm. Just before arriving at the Farm we take a sharp right southward (11) and after a look at the sky over North Frodingham Carr (12) we return over fields to Hemphome.
